Epson PORT: Using Cost Accounting, Job Management & More

After receiving numerous inquiries about exporting cost data into a spreadsheet file from Epson Port, we have put together this helpful guide to assist you. Whether you’re using Excel or any other program, Epson makes it easy to export your cost accounting files. In this blog, we will walk you through the process step by step.

Accessing Epson Port Dashboard

To begin, log into the Epson Port program on your computer. Once logged in, you will be directed to the dashboard, which offers several options. Locate the cost and accounting feature, located at the bottom right corner of the dashboard.

Cost Report Filtering

Within the cost report area, you can filter your data to display specific information. This allows for a more targeted view of your cost accounting for better analysis. By selecting the printer model, in this case, the r5000, you can narrow down the results to focus solely on that printer. Additionally, you can adjust the price settings to include your ink pricing, media costs, and any other relevant pricing information.

Applying Advanced Filters

Once you have set up your initial filters, you can further refine your cost report by utilizing the advanced filtering options. These options allow you to exclude media with specific dimensions or consumption below a certain threshold. You can also filter by job names, giving you the flexibility to analyze specific projects or tasks separately.

Exporting Cost Data

Once you have applied all your desired filters, scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Here, you will find the option to export your cost data. You have the choice to export all jobs in your system or only the displayed jobs based on your applied filters. Choose the option that suits your needs, and a file will be generated for you to download.

Opening the CSV File

After downloading the file, you can open it with your preferred spreadsheet program, such as Excel. The CSV file will contain all the relevant information you configured in Epson Port, including job names, printer serial numbers, ink costs, media costs, and more. This file can now be utilized for further analysis, reporting, or any other purposes you require.

Epson Port provides a simple and efficient solution for exporting cost accounting files to be used in programs like Excel. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can easily export your cost data and leverage it for better decision-making and analysis.
