EPSON SureColor F2270 DTG/DTF Hybrid Printer – Improvements & Updates

The Epson F2100 has been the best-selling DTG printer of all time. It’s the Tom Brady of DTG printers- the GOAT. But like Brady, the F2100 is retiring and making way for a fresh new generation of talent. Today we’re going to look at our 5 favorite improvements Epson has made in their brand new F2270 DTG printer.

Let’s get right to our list. The first improvement is print speed. The F2270 is up to 25% faster than outgoing F2100. This means more shirts printed in less time. It’s pretty simple, but if your business could benefit from faster turnaround times or greater print capacity than a 25% improvement is a big deal.

Number 2 is another productivity enhancement: auto print head height adjustment. The F2270 has a new process called garment thickness optimization. It uses a sensor to detect the height of each garment and create a profile map of the peaks and troughs on the garment. Epson then adjusts the print head height to provide optimum print quality and reduce operator intervention. This feature should boost productivity beyond the 25% faster print times as operators will spend less time between shirts manually raising or lowering the platen.

Number 3. The F2270 uses larger 800 ml ink packs. These ink packs are more sustainable than the outgoing F2100 plastic cartridges and reduce landfill waste by 70%. The new ink packs also provide 200 additional ml of ink which means less frequent ink changes and… you guessed it, more productivity.

Number 4: Hybrid DTG and DTF capabilities. While the F2100 has been capable of DTG and DTF workflows, Epson’s new Garment Creator 2 software for the F2270 now makes it easier than ever to do both applications. The Garment Thickness Optimization we discussed earlier also allows users to go back and forth between DTG and DTF printing without manually adjusting the platen. The ability to easily switch back and forth between DTG and DTF printing makes the F2270 a true hybrid solution for those looking to offer both print methods.

Finally, number 5: a new compact foot print. The new design reduces the depth needed behind the printer and keeps the front from sticking out your work area. The new design also allows you to place the printer flat against a side wall. This opens up more table top space and gives you more flexibility with positioning 1 or more F2270’s in your production area.

As you can see, Epson has been hard at work improving upon what was already the best DTG printer in the market. We’re counting down the days until we can get our hands on the new Epson F2270.
