EPSON SureColor F2270 DTG Printer – Product Intro – Newest in Direct to Garment & Direct to Film

SureColor F2270 Increases Productivity and Efficiency to Meet Customer Demand

It’s been nearly 10 years since Epson launched their first Direct to Garment printer, the F2000. Since then, the F2000 series has become a dynasty, now the best-selling DTG printers in history. Today, Epson has announced the 3rd generation of this best-selling series: The SureColor F2270 DTG printer. In this video we’ll take a first look at the new heir to the throne. We’ll look at the new changes, discuss the things that are the same, and compare the specs for the brand-new Epson F2270.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Epson F2270 is the sleeker and more streamlined shape. This new flat-top design makes it easier to fit in tight spaces but it will still print a max size of 16” x 20”. You’ll also notice the transparent cover for easy viewing of the LED lit print zone. The last visible change that jumps out is the addition of a 4.3” color touch panel display for controlling the settings and operation of the printer.

Under the hood, the F2270 uses Epson’s latest PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead. This new print head and the increased processing speeds allows the F2270 to print 15% faster on dark shirts and 25% faster on light shirts when compared to the outgoing F2100.

Another unseen productivity feature is the new automatic platen adjustment. This is a feature Epson has brought from their industrial F3070 DTG printer. The printer uses lasers to measure the height of the garment and automatically raise or lower the platen. This provides maximum print quality even when switching between thick heavy sweatshirts and thinner t-shirts.

Epson’s chemists have also reformulated the inks in the F2270. The ink set is still CMYK with two White Inks, but these new Ultrachrome DG2 inks show improvements in ink bleed, specifically between Yellow and Black areas. The inks now come in 800 ml ink pouches that are snapped into place in the printers ink bay. These new larger inks mean less change frequency, and reduced waste compared with the ink cartridges found in previous DTG generations.

The new SureColor F2270 makes use of a new GarmentCreator2 software, which not only enables the printing of both DTG & DTFilm but improves the quality of fine lines and small text. Epson boasts that GarmentCreator2 now features faster data processing as well as 600dpi resolution, to deliver exceptional color output.

We’re really excited to get our hands on this new printer and give some more in-depth feedback. Epson is expected to begin shipping these printers later this year.
